A New Season Posted April 29, 2016

Off

The pruning and turning of the soil has been done at Etalon Rouge, and bud-burst started about ten days ago. We have bought new barrels for the 2015 harvest. This vintage will be an exceptional millisime. Like 2010 the price of 2015 retail will be €45.

Our first bottles were sold by the St. Emilion winestore, “Bordeaux Classique” this week, and they are expecting a good response from their clients over the coming season.

If you have friends going to St. Emilion this year, suggest that they visit Greg and Mansoor at the store for a tasting of Etalon Rouge. (We might suggest a bottle or two for Elizabeth Rex, same initials)

Our wine is one that is being considered by the sommelier for Bonham’s new one star Michelin restaurant in Bond Street London, no guarantee that we will get on the list first time, but it is already an honour to be in the running.

Please try and plan to be here for the harvest, it looks likely to be around the fourth week of September, but we will keep you posted as the season progresses. It will be a food and wine fest as well as the great experience of harvesting our first vintage as owners.

Robert Scott of the radio station Wineline, will do a programme on Etalon Rouge, and we will let you know when it airs.

We will do some photos and send these soon.

In the meantime, to quote Robert, “wine on!”

Best,
Les
