This tour is to the most famous chateaux of the appellation of Sauternes – home of Bordeaux noble rot wine. In Sauternes, they overturn everything that winemakers in the rest of Bordeaux take for granted.

From a climate that has both humid mist and bright sunshine on the same day, to promoting bacterial growth, multiple harvests that involve berry by berry selection, single barrel fermentation and maturation and using only natural yeasts. Wine-making in Sauterne is fascinating and the wine tasting unforgettable.
This all-day tour takes you to the southernmost area of Bordeaux. We visit one grand cru classé château in in the morning and one in the afternoon, after a set-menu lunch in the village Sauternes.
Tour rate includes all chateaux admissions and tastings, an English speaking wine buff and air-conditioned transport. Lunch is not included in the tour rate.
